Summary
Ukiah Senior Apartments is a 31-unit new construction project, with 27 one-bedroom and 3 two-bedroom permanent supportive housing units, serving Senior households (aged 55+) with incomes between 50 and 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI), one managers’ unit, and no market rate units. Thirty of the units are HOME units.

The project is built and fully rented up.

 

Benefits
This is a single elevator serviced three-story building. The type of construction will be wood frame supported by a perimeter foundation with concrete slab flooring. The exterior is a combination of horizontal clap board siding, shake shingle siding, and vertical board and batten siding. Accents include decorative cultured stone and wood outriggers, providing an aesthetically appealing exterior that blends with the character of the surrounding neighborhood.

Each unit has air conditioning, refrigerator, range, disposal, dishwasher, curtains/blinds, storage, and balcony or patio. On-site amenities include elevators, laundry room, community room, community kitchen, and fitness room. Off-site amenities, located within two miles of the project, include immediate access to public transportation, Rite-Aid Pharmacy, Safeway grocery, Walmart, Fire Station, Post Office, Library, Hospital, and McGarvey City Park.

Impact
Ukiah Senior Apartments provides permanent affordable housing to Seniors aged 55+ with incomes between 50% to 60% area median income for Mendocino county. The building is orientated in such a way that it creates a concept of community.
