Summary
The City of Russell is located in Western Kansas along I70.  The parks that were updated had equipment that was over 40 years old, which was unsafe and outdated.Quality of life was significantly impacted by the updating of 3 parks in the city with CDBG fundsSince the replacement has taken place all 3 parks have been full almost daily during nice weather with families and children enjoying the amenities This CDBG Project has created a great space for kids to get out of the house and participate in physical activity, have fun and create healthy habits to build a better lifestyle. 

Benefits & Innovation
This project benefited a total of 4380 people with 2425 of them being LMI persons. This project was completed in 2022.

The city of Russell and the State of Kansas CDBG Program at the Kansas Department of Commerce, worked together to fund and plan this project.
