The City of Russell is located in Western Kansas along I70. The parks that were updated had equipment that was over 40 years old, which was unsafe and outdated. Quality of life was significantly impacted by the updating of 3 parks in the city with CDBG funds. Since the replacement has taken place all 3 parks have been full almost daily during nice weather with families and children enjoying the amenities. This CDBG Project has created a great space for kids to get out of the house and participate in physical activity, have fun and create healthy habits to build a better lifestyle.
