States engaged federal and local partners, including members of Congress, on successful deployment of CDBG and HOME to address affordable housing, infrastructure, and related priorities. Examples included:

• The Colorado Department of Local Affairs held an event, Flats at Ford Street, an affordable housing development in Golden, CO. Speakers included Governor Jared Polis, Congresswoman Brittany Petterson, and Mayor of Golden Laura Weinberg. More details here.
• The Missouri Department of Economic Development hosted state and local officials to recognize CDBG’s support of a wastewater treatment facility in Branson. Governor Mike Parson delivered remarks on state-directed use of program funds and issued a proclamation in recognition of CD week. Press release here.
• The Delaware State Housing Authority held an event in Dover to showcase the impact of CDBG, HOME, and Housing Trust Fund in the state. • The Nebraska Department of Economic Development and Governor Jim Pillen presented the 2023 Governor’s Showcase Award to Wood River, NE for downtown improvements, new senior and aquatic centers, and a new childcare facility; projects were supported through state and federal investments including CDBG. • COSCDA partnered with Fairfax County, Virginia for site visits to housing developments in the D.C. area. Attendees included Congressman Don Beyer and HUD headquarter officials. Fairfax County Board Chairman Jeff McKay recognized National Community Development Week through a local proclamation.
