Awards Questionnaire

Dear COSCDA Members:

The Members Services Committee has been charged with reviewing the current award process to see how it could be made more open and inclusive, reviewing the current timetables for submitting nominations, and making suggestions that would encourage more applications or generate more interest in the awards. We have created the following questionnaire to help us understand your view on the award process. Below is a listing of the wards and the process in which they are reviewed.

JAMES REEVES MEMBER CONTRIBUTION AWARD

Named in honor of long time COSCDA member, James Reeves, this award recognizes an individual COSCDA member who has made the most significant and sustained contribution to the work and mission of COSCDA during the last five years.

PRESIDENT'S AWARD FOR INNOVATION

This award recognizes innovative activities, policies or programs that have been implemented at the state level, which have demonstrated success in solving community needs. The winner of this award will make a presentation at Annual Training Conference.

COSCDA STERLING ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

This award recognizes state programs that have demonstrated, during a sustained period, positive results in improving the lives of lower income persons in the following program areas: Community or Economic Development, Housing Development or Assistance and Homelessness Assistance or Prevention. Sterling Achievement Award in each of the program areas identified above. Below are the current process / timetable for making nominations for COSCDA awards:

  • awards review committee appointed in March at Board Meeting
  • solicitation letter send to members in April each year
  • reminder notice sent to members in June
  • awards nominations due to COSCDA July 27
  • nominees are complied by staff and forwarded to Awards Review Committee.
  • nominations are reviewed and ranked
  • winners notified
  • announcements made and winning presentations made at annual conference
